A filk by GiNnY to the tune of Superman by Five for Fighting
REMUS:
I can't stand their fright
Malicious whispering
Rejection, pity, lies.
It's downright maddening.
I'm more than just fangs,
I'm more than a freak,
More than some monster dog,
and DADA geek.
Well, it's not easy to be me.
Wish to hide from the moon.
Fall in love in peace,
Without the fear that I
Might someday kill my kids.
It isn't absurd,
you have to admit
Even werewolves have the right to dream.
I need to be loved,
and not to be feared,
Want to be cared for,
to be revered.
Well, it's not easy to be me.
Run and hide away, away from me,
You'll be alright.
I will crash in the Shack tonight.
My pals will be with me... through everything.
I can't stand this life.
Only Wolfsbane can save me.
Need to hide from everyone,
Even need to hide from me.
I'm only a man,
though once in four weeks,
I turn into a wolf
When the full moon peaks.
I'm only a man,
With a simple dream,
I want to end this curse,
Want to be free,
Want to be free, want to be free.
I want to be free, I want to be free!
I'm also a man,
not your average freak,
I'm also a man
looking for a dream.
I'm also a man,
Oh please hear me speak.
It's not easy... hoo-hoo-hoo.
It's not easy.... to be... me.
A filk by Gail to the tune of The Love Shack by the B52s
It's retro night at the Leaky Cauldron with an '80s dance revival...no cover charge!
LUPIN (and back-up Marauder vocals):
When you go into the village there's a scary little place, there in Hogsmede
called the Shrieking Shack. Shrieking Shack, yeah
Once every month I'm goin' to the Willow, goin' to the shack hide-a-way.
Heading for the shack hide-a-way, shack hide-a-way, shack hide-a-way, shack
hide-a-way
I'm a werewolf and every full moon I'm headin' on down to the Shrieking
Shack. I got me three friends, Peter, Potter and Black. To help me, they
each became Animagis
This old shack is the very same place where I would go each full moon.
Shrieking Shack, baby Shrieking Shack, bay-bee
Shrieking Shack, baby That shack, Shrieking Shack baby. Way back. Shack,
baby, that's where I'm at. Ooooo, werewolf, that's what I am.
I howl, Wooooo...stay away fools 'cause wolves rule at the Shrieking Shack!
Well, it's a set way back in the town of Hogsmeade. Before the moon rises I gotta get back.
Breakin' up the furniture
Bitin' my own body
Howlin' and a snarlin'
Scarin' the whole village
This old shack is the very same place where I would go each full moon.
Shrieking Shack, baby. Shrieking Shack, bay-bee. Shrieking Shack, that's
where I'm at! Werewolf, that's what I am.
Howlin' and a-barkin'. Scaring the whole village 'cause the noise that I'm
a-makin'. The whole town stays far away when they hear me again and again and again.
My three friends they help me. They are Animagis, I say they hang out with
me they help me to calm down. My three friends they help me. They are Animagis, I say
Shrieking little Shack. Shrieking little Shack
I turn into a werewolf with a snout and a tail and I'm starting to wail! I
got me three friends, Peter Potter and Black. To help me, they each became Animagis
This old shack is the very same place where I go each full moon.
Shrieking Shack, baby Shrieking Shack, bay-bee
Shrieking Shack, baby Shrieking Shack
Shrieking Shack, baby Shrieking Shack
Ooooo werewolf, that's what I am
Howl, howl, howl at the moon, Lupin. You can find him in there, Severus
Howl, howl, howl at the moon, Lupin. James follows through.
Werewolf! at the door, baby!
Potter! saves Snape's life!
Werewolf! almost kills him!
Life debt!
The Prank!
Sirius Black...busted.
Shrieking Shack, baby Shrieking Shack
Shrieking Shack, baby Shrieking Shack
Shrieking Shack, baby Shrieking Shack
Werewolf, that's what I am.
A filk by Mariner to the tune of Helen Reddy's I Am Woman
LUPIN
I am werewolf, hear me howl,
At each full moon I'm on the prowl,
A menace and a monster dark and wild.
At other times you will not see
A kinder, gentler guy than me,
Intelligent, compassionate and mild.
Oh yes, I am strong,
Forged in loneliness and pain.
Yes, I have been wronged,
But I will not complain.
If I have to, I can bear anything.
I am alone,
I'm unemployable,
I am werewolf.
I have courage, I have smarts,
I know Defence Against Dark Arts,
I have chocolate if Dementors give you stress.
Why, I even can teach Neville
To defeat his private devil
By making Snape-the-boggart wear a dress.
Oh yes, I am strong,
Forged in loneliness and pain.
Yes, I have been wronged,
But I will not complain.
If I have to, I can bear anything.
I am alone,
I'm unemployable,
I am werewolf.
I am werewolf, see me roam,
I have no place, I have no home,
I live pursued by prejudice and hate.
And I must drink on full moon nights
A potion made with aconite;
The phases of the moon control my fate.
Oh yes, I am strong,
Forged in loneliness and pain.
Yes, I have been wronged,
But I will not complain.
If I have to, I can bear anything.
I am alone,
I'm unemployable,
I am werewolf.
I am werewolf,
I'm unemployable,
I am alone
A filk by Gail to the tune of I Am The Walrus by the Beatles
Note...the "a-a-arooo" bit is supposed to be the sound of a wolf howling, okay?
LUPIN:
You are there and I'm aware that you are scared because I am a
werewolf
See how I'm shunned by everyone they do not know
I'm lonely
Turn into a werewolf, bitten when I was quite young
Hogwarts School of Magic, Dumbledore Headmaster
Man, I never thought that I would be able to attend
My name is Lupin, Remus J. Lupin
I am a werewolf...a-a-arooo!
Madame Pomfrey, each month takes me
She takes me to the Womping Willow
There I will change, my body rearrange into a wolf
I'm changing, I'm changing
I'm changing, I'm changing
Animagi buddies, Wormtail and Padfoot and Prongs
Young and thoughtless students, dangerous near misses
Boy, the fun we had running all around the school grounds
My name is Lupin, Remus J. Lupin
I am a werewolf...a-a-arooo!
Sitting in the Shrieking Shack now, waiting for the moon
When the moon comes soon I will transform
My form will become a monster
My name is Lupin, Remus J. Lupin
I am a werewolf...a-a-arooo!
With this illness, painful changes
Feeling estranged from other people
Hear how I growl like a wolf on the prowl
Hear how I yowl
I'm howling
Greasy git Severus, watching from a Hogwarts tower
Hopes to get us expelled, trying always spying
Man, he sees me leave and he wants to know where I go
My name is Lupin, Remus J. Lupin
I am a werewolf...a-a-arooo a-a-arooo!
A-a-arooo, a-a-arooo arooo!
Remember, the Walrus was Paul...goo goo g'joob.
A filk by Nicole Lyon to the tune of More than a Woman by the Bee Gees
LUPIN takes the stage wearing a white leisure suit and a butterfly collar shirt open to the waist with a huge gold medallion hanging down on his chest. Sirius, Peter, and Snape stand behind him, similarly dressed, acting as his chorus. The lights dim and a disco ball spins as LUPIN starts to sing in falsetto.
LUPIN
The world thinks it knows me so well
They think I'm nothing but a beast
They say I'm vicious, dangerous
But they don't know me in the least
I know all about Dark Arts
I was friends with Harry's dad
We hung out in the Shrieking Shack
With Sirius but he became bad
And it was Sirius who sold out James
Which led to Lily's death as well
Then Sirius went and he murdered Peter
And now I'm a teacher at Hogwarts
And though I have lost every one of my friends
Here's my chance to prove that I'm
More than a werewolf, more than a werewolf I am
More than a werewolf, more than a werewolf I am
I'll teach my students defense
How to defeat boggarts and grindylows
And teach Harry to cast
His own Patronus very fast
Snape he brewed my Wolfsbane potion
It helped to ease my affliction
But I should have known he would tell
My secret to his Slytherins
And now my secret's out so once again
I'll have to pack my bags and leave
But at least I learned my friend Sirius
Is not the killer that he once seemed
Now he's in hiding and I'm forced to leave here
But one day I will prove I'm
Repeat chorus three times
More than a werewolf, more than a werewolf I am
More than a werewolf, more than a werewolf I am
A filk by Polish Girl to the tune of Werewolves of London by Zevon Warren. (You know, that song that goes, 'Arrr-ooooo! Werewolves of London!')
HARRY:
I met a werewolf who was one of my dad's little pack
Prowling through the streets of Hogsmeade under the moon
He was looking for a place called the Shrieking Shack
Going to get himself a bite of a wooden broom
Werewolf of Hogwarts
SNAPE:
If you hear him howling around near your school
Better not let him in
Trio of kids nearly got bitten last night
Werewolf of Hogwarts again
Werewolf of Hogwarts
RON AND HERMIONE:
He's the gentle old gent who ran amok with his friends
Lately he's been found out from a mean old blighter
Better keep his secret, Snape!
He'll attack your old black cape!
I wouldn't like to meet his biter.
Werewolf of Hogwarts
SNAPE:
Well, I saw Fudge walking with Dumbledore
Discussing the dementors of Azkaban
I saw Harry Potter walking with his pals
Discussing the Werewolf of Hogwarts
I saw a dog drinking a Butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks
His hair was matted
Werewolf of Hogwarts
Eat up!
A filk by Gail to the tune of She's A Woman by the Beatles, from their album Beatles 65
HERMIONE:
Lupin's the Dark Arts Professor
He was Lockhart's successor
Though his robes are awfully ragged
His style of teaching's so much better
Lupin, the Dark Arts Professor
Showed us all Boggarts and Kappas
But found out that Lupin had a secret
I know what it is
One day Lupin was absent
Snape became his replacement
Snape was being evil that day
He called me a Know-It-All
That day Lupin was absent
Gave us all a lot of homework
How to recognize and kill a werewolf
Now I know why
He's a werewolf, but I don't care
He's a werewolf, but I'm not scared
Thought he was helping Black out
So mad, I started to shout
Hadn't told anybody yet
Had been covering up for him
Thought he was helping Black out
Recognized all of his symptoms
I told them all about Lupin's secret
I know what he is
He's a werewolf, Professor Lupin
He's a werewolf, now I trust him
Lupin was the Dark Arts Professor
He was Lockhart's successor
He really knew how to teach us
'Bout Defense Against the Dark Arts
Lupin, the Dark Arts Professor
Really sad to see him leave us
We will never forget Remus Lupin
I don't care what he is
He's a werewolf, he's a werewolf...
A filk by Pippin to the tune of He's a Rebel by the Crystals
HARRY:
He's a man who's gentle and kind
When Snape grieves him he doesn't mind
He held Neville's head up high
I know that he's not a spy-y-y-y-y
A good guy
He has taught me he should be proud
I fought off the Dementor crowd
For me he'll always be the one
To do the things that should be done
And just because of that they will say -- Hey!
He's a werewolf and he'll never be - any good
He's a werewolf and he'll never do - what he should
But just because he can't do what - everybody else does
That's no reason why he can't have a Hogwarts job
He was always good to me -- always taught us carefully
He's our best teacher, he can't go
He's no Dark Creature, no-no-no to me-e-e-e-e-e
LUPIN:
They won't want me here that way
I'll have no job after today
I have no choice but to resign -- when they say
I'm a werewolf and I'll never ever be - any good
I'm a werewolf and I never ever do - what I should
(What, just because you broke the rules like - everybody else
does
That's no reason why -you should be got rid of)
Snape was right about me, see -- a werewolf I will always be
I am a werewolf -- oh-oh-oh
I am a werewolf -- oh-oh-oh
Don't take my potion no-no-no
Caused a commotion no-no-no
I am a werewolf -- oh oh oh
[repeat to fade]
A filk by Jason LeBouef to the tune of She's A Lady by Tom Jones
Ah.. couldn't resist! The original song has enough howls, WO WO WO's and "A-oOOOO's" coming from Tom and the backup singers to not pass up. Kinda makes you wonder….
HARRY
Well, he's really kind and smart
Teach Defense against Dark arts, yes, he's a winner
And he teaches magic well
You could give those boggarts hell, even beginners
He's a werewolf
A-roooooooo
He's a werewolf
Talking about that Lupin werewolf
And that werewolf's my friend
LUPIN
You can scare dementors away
Everytime when you say Expecto Patronum
Ridikkulus flies from your wand
And boggarts leave you alone, that's some wisdom
HARRY
He's a werewolf
A-roooooooo
He's a werewolf
Talking about that Lupin werewolf
And that werewolf's my friend
No one likes him very much, wizards would refuse him
No one treats him with respect, People just abuse him
But I find he's very nice, He's not such a loser
I would rather have him teaching defense any dayyyyyyyyy
LUPIN
When dementors make you shout
Know a spell to knock them out and that's not easy
When my term at school is through
I'll be sorely missing you and Ron Weasley
HARRY/LUPIN
He's a/I'm a werewolf
A-roooooooo
He's a/I'm a werewolf
Talking about that Lupin werewolf
And that werewolf's my friend
Yeah yeah yeah
HARRY/LUPIN
He's a/I'm a werewolf
A-roooooooo
He's a/I'm a werewolf
Listen to me people he's a/I'm a werewolf
Yeah yeah yeah
He's a/I'm a werewolf
He's a/I'm a werewolf
Talking about that Lupin werewolf
LUPIN (howling)
A-roooo a-rooo a-rooo a-rooo A-ROOO A-ROOOO A-ROOOOO!!!!
I'm a werewolf
Yeah yeah yeah
repeat until fade
To the Mexican folk tune of the same name
Inspired by Clio's thread Ridiculing the Moon, which asked why Lupin thought cockroaches sufficiently amusing to turn his Boggart into one. Perhaps Lupin had Neil Simon's precept (from The Sunshine Boys) in mind: "Words with a 'k' in it are funny. Alkaseltzer is funny. Chicken is funny…… Cockroach is funny -- not if you get 'em, only if you say 'em...."
THE SCENE: The staff room. LUPIN banishes a boggart
LUPIN:
After entering the staff room
I went to open up the wardrobe
Hovering within its half gloom
I then saw a silvery globe
BOGGART (in the form of a full moon)
Hey there muchacho, ya feeling macho?
I'll portray your greatest fear
And hey you werewolf I'm gonna scare wolf
Transforming to lunar spheres
LUPIN
Teaching Defense against Dark Arts
I fight those who would misrule us
I know how to handle boggarts
All you say is Riddikulus
BOGGART
You're in a spot-cha, 'cause now I gotcha
LUPIN
I'll just cast my spell on it
The BOGGART is transformed into a cockroach
BOGGART (scurrying about)
La cucaracha, I'm cucaracha
Remus, please don't get the Flit
Thought I'd change into Pandora
Calypso or even Titan
Turn you to a fiendish horror
You'd be all the people bitin'
LUPIN
La cucaracha, you cucaracha
You're ridiculous all right
You're in a botch, ya, it's time to scotch ya
With some handy kitchen light!
With LUPIN'S Kitchen Lumos spell, the Cockroach-Boggart explodes
NOTE: Pandora, Calypso & Titan are three of Saturn's 18 or so moons
The Scene: Defense Against Dark Arts Classroom. Enter HARRY
HARRY
When it comes to fightin' the Dark Arts
He's the guy who's the Wolfgang Mozart
Whenever Boggarts begin a-swoopin'
You can direct your call to Remus Lupin
The wizard world is not too philanthropic
When it comes to matters lycanthropic
Professor Severus' forever's snoopin'
He'll never get the best of Remus Lupin
If he can just avoid that silver bullet
He has a destiny, and he'll fulfill it
He may be gone for now, but he's regroupin'
We have not seen the last of Remus Lupin
To the tune of Hakuna Matata from The Lion King
The Scene: HARRY POTTER and REMUS LUPIN in the History of Magic classroom
LUPIN (spoken) The spell I am going to try and teach you is highly advanced magic, Harry - well beyond Ordinary Wizarding Level. It is called the Patronus Charm. The incantation is this (clearing his throat) Expecto Patronum!
HARRY (spoken): What a magical phrase!
LUPIN:(music) Expecto Patronum
LUPIN waves his wand, summoning forth PRONGS, in a shimmering, silvery form
Glows in a silvery glaze
LUPIN & PRONGS:
It's manifested
In a style that's sure to amaze
ALL:
It can troubleshoot when things get acute!
Expecto Patronum!
LUPIN:
When I was a young werewolf
HARRY & PRONGS:
When he was a young werewolf
PRONGS:
He found that the world did not give much hope
HARRY:
To a youth diagnosed as a full lycanthrope
LUPIN:
I'm a sensitive soul when it's not a full moon
The motivations of others I shall not impugn
But, 'twas so foul
HARRY & PRONGS:
He found it to be foul!
LUPIN:
When as a wolf I'd prowl….
HARRY & PRONGS:
No doubt he'd look for fowl….
LUPIN:
And how brashly I would howl
HARRY & PRONGS:
Enough to make one scowl!
LUPIN:
Or when I'd disemb-
HARRY: (spoken)
Ah, Professor - I think we're getting off-topic here….
LUPIN: (spoken, with his reserve returning)
Yes, of course…..
(music)
ALL: Expecto Patronum!
LUPIN:
You won't trust your own gaze…..
PRONGS:
Dementors? - You own 'em!
LUPIN & PRONGS:
They'll glide away in a daze
PRONGS:
It's a projection
Of your spirit's paramount rays
ALL:
When you feel faint, call your patron saint!
Expecto Patronum!
A filk by Moony & Padfoot's Girl to the tune of I'm A Little Teapot
Remus enters the Great Hall after Severus blows his cover. All the students are watching him intently. Suddenly, Remus breaks into song..
I'm a little werewolf
Have no doubt
Here is my tail & here is my snout
When the full moon rises I have to pack
And off I go to the Shrieking Shack
He walks off, leaving all the students stunned
A filk by Alexandra to the tune of Teyve's Dream from Fiddler on the Roof
Set during the year of PoA. Lines in quotes are spoken.
HARRY: "Help! Help!"
RON: "Harry, Harry, wake up! What is it? What's the matter with you? Why are you howling like that?"
HARRY: "Where is he? Where is he?"
RON: "Where is who? Who are you talking about?"
HARRY: "Sirius Black. He was standing there a minute ago!"
RON: "What's the matter with you, Harry? Sirius couldn't be anywhere near here! You must have been dreaming. Tell me what you dreamed, and I'll tell you what it meant."
HARRY: "All right - only don't be frightened. In the beginning I dreamt that we were having a celebration of some kind. Everybody we knew was there... musicians too... Suddenly, in comes my mum, may she rest in peace. Naturally, I went up to greet her... And she said..."
LILY (music):
A blessing on your head
SIRIUS:
My dear son, my dear son
LILY:
To see your dad's best friend
SIRIUS:
My dear son, my dear son
And what a secret lies
Inside the heart, disguised
Of DADA teacher Lupin!
RON: "Lupin?"
LILY:
A werewolf man is he
SIRIUS:
My dear son, my dear son
LILY:
A well-loved family
SIRIUS:
My dear son, my dear son
LILY:
But tainted by a bite
On a boy's flesh one night
The DADA teacher Lupin
RON: "A werewolf! She must have heard wrong. She meant a caring goof."
HARRY:
You must have heard wrong, Mummy
There's no werewolf
You mean a teacher, Lily
By the name of Remus L.
LILY:
No! I mean a werewolf, Harry
My dear scarred child
He, every month transforms anew
Your father's friend now teaches you
For such a friend I prayed
CHORUS:
My dear son, my dear son
LILY:
You must not be afraid
CHORUS:
My dear son, my dear son
LILY:
A fine upstanding boy
A comfort and a joy
The werewolf Remus Lupin
RON: "But he's such a nice guy. How could he transform into a monster every month?"
HARRY:
He's such a nice guy, Mummy
And he's clever
My favorite teacher, Lily
Not a werewolf, no, not him!
LILY:
Yes! He is a werewolf, Harry
That's your lesson
But as for Sirius Black, I say to you
Love him, your godfather, do!
CHORUS:
Ten points upon your house, my dear son, my dear son
Scabbers ain't a mouse, my dear son, my dear son
As for your Potions Prof
He's getting real ticked off
The bat-like man named Severus
The bat-like man named Severus
HARRY:
The bastard git named...
CHORUS:
Shush! Shush!
Look!
Who is this?
Who is this?
Who comes here?
Who? Who? Who? Who?
What bastard is this
By righteous anger shaken?
SOLO VOICES:
Could it be?
Sure?
Yes it could?
Why not?
Who could be mistaken?
It's the former Death Eater come from the passageway
It's your father's unlucky human toy
Severus Snape, Severus Snape
It's the bastard, it's the bastard, it's the bastard, it's the bastard
SNAPE:
Potter! Potter!
What is this about your father marrying my girlfriend?
CHORUS:
Yes, his girlfriend
SNAPE:
Would you do this to your Potions Master who has no friends?
CHORUS:
Who has no friends
SNAPE:
Did you never know we bats have feelings?
CHORUS:
Bats have feelings?
SNAPE:
Having my robes taken off me then in public
CHORUS:
Off in public
SNAPE:
How can you allow it, how?
How can you let your father take my place?
Live for my girl... Get lots of fame
And die by Voldemort's hand?
CHORUS:
How can you allow your father
To take his place...
SNAPE:
Girl...
CHORUS:
Fame... Death... Friends... How?
SNAPE:
Such a Gryffindor as Harry wouldn't let it happen
CHORUS:
Let it happen
SNAPE:
Tell me that you'll kill the wolf and that you're sorry
CHORUS:
That you're sorry
SNAPE:
Say your father didn't give his heart to Lily
CHORUS:
Heart to Lily
SNAPE:
I knew what would follow such a fatal wedding
CHORUS:
Fatal wedding, shh!!
SNAPE:
When James and Lily married, like fools
I drank with some ghouls
She lived with him three years
And when three years were up
HE came to them by night
HE said the magic words
And...
Avada he gave Lily!
Kadavra he gave Jamesie!
And tried to give you Harry!
That's what happens when you run with a werewolf!
RON: "It's an evil spirit! May it fall into the river; may it sink into the earth. Such a dark and horrible dream. And to think it was brought on by our DADA teacher and that escaped convict. If your mother, Lily, may she rest in peace, took the trouble to come all the way from the other world to tell us about Lupin and Black, all we can say is that it is all for the best, and it couldn't possibly be any better."
HARRY: "Yeah."
RON:
A scar upon his head, James's son, James's son
Like his mother said: and Black's son, and Black's son
And what a secret lies
Inside the heart, disguised
Of DADA teacher Lupin
HARRY:
We haven't got a plan
RON:
What a bum, what a bum
HARRY:
We had when we began
RON:
Let's just run, let's just run
HARRY:
But, gads, my mother came
And we're taught by what's his name?
RON:
The werewolf Remus Lupin
BOTH:
The werewolf Remus Lupin
The werewolf Remus Lupin
The werewolf Remus Lupin
A filk by RJ Lupin set to A Window to the Past by John Williams, from the PoA sountrack, Track 7
Inspired by that scene on the bridge between Harry and Lupin. I don't really think of people singing in this song, just their point of view, so that will be in parenthesis. It's supposed to be a piece to go with the bridge scene, but then there's a hint of Sirius in the whole song, so the bits at the end can easily be in Sirius' point of view as well as Lupin's.
HARRY
Oh how I long to see at last
Through a window to the past
To the parents I barely know
The parents that I had lost twelve long years ago
It's all his fault that they are dead
Never know what they'd have said
I would never have to to have known
What it is like when you're living all alone
LUPIN
Your mother, so kind was she
Saw what one might never see
Their inner beauty lying within
Though it may seem so completely hidden from them
And when nobody else was there
For me she would always care
So much magic in what she would say
It made one look forward to another day
But then James on the other hand
Had much trouble he would plan
All the pranks and mischief he'd do
Seems passed onto you
What made me really realize
You was your mother's eyes
LUPIN and/or SIRIUS
And you are truly not apart
You can find them in your heart
That is where they always will last
Yes that is your window into the past
It really is starting to show
You're more like them than you know
HARRY
When I want them there with me
I can always go and see
Through my window to the past
A filk by WindexWarriors Slaysia Valrov, Karl Falcon, and Ann'dei Varun to the tune of Summer Soft by Stevie Wonder from his 1976 album Songs in the Key of Life
A/N: We highly suggest you listen carefully to S. Wonder's song beforehand, to better interperet the rhythm and rhyme scheme. The lyrics are written from Remus Lupin's point of view, relating the events immediately following Sirius Black's disappearance behind the veil of death.
Curtain cold.
Hides you from my vision with its fabric old
In the midst of battle, deep within its folds
It brings death through its breeze
Mourning child.
Franticly is struggling with a gesture wild
Holding back from running to the other side
To bring back his fam'ly
And so he waits to see what you'll do
Is it life or death for you
But it breaks his heart in two
When he finds it's forever
And he's gone
And he's gone
Black is gone
Taking with him Harry's joy.
Weeping Wail
Whispers of existance from beyond the veil
Waiting for an answer from the deadly gale
Taking life away with its breeze
Mourning friend
Disbelieving this can really be the end
Know not where or when we'll meet around the bend
Whether bright or dim days we'll find
And so we wait to see what you'll do
Is it life or death for you
But it breaks my heart in two
Cause you've been struck by Bella
And he's gone
And he's gone
Black is gone
He finds it's forever
And he's gone
And he's gone
Black is gone
You've been struck by Bella
And he's gone
And he's gone
Black is gone
He finds it's forever
And he's gone
And he's gone
Black is gone
You've been struck by Bella
And he's gone
And he's gone
Black is gone
Nah, baa, no, no, no! Whoo!
A filk by RJ Lupin to the tune of Morning Light by the A*Teens
A little song that takes place when Remus is at school as he sits in his dormitory early one morning and watches the sun rise and feels happy.
REMUS:
Once upon a time I was a young boy
Without doubt or worry on my mind
And everything in life seemed just so easy
'Cause everything was going well and fine
One night the moon is full and I am bitten
And everything I know changes so fast
Then years of living painful transformations
There's just one thing that makes me want to last
I believe in the morning light
When I know it'll be over
I believe in the morning light
When I know it'll be done
I believe in the morning light
Where I know I will see them all again
I will be free
And they'll be there
I have three great friends, I'm so glad I have them
Some moons I still remember who I am
They're all I could have wanted and they are more
They help me see what life's worth living for
I believe in the morning light
When I know it'll be over
I believe in the morning light
When I know it'll be done
I believe in the morning light
Where I know I will see them all again
I will be free
And they'll be there...
I believe in the morning light
I believe in the morning light
When I know it'll be over
I believe in the morning light
When I know it'll be done
I believe in the morning light
Where I know I will see them all again
I will be free
I believe in the morning light
When I know it'll be over
I believe in the morning light
When I know it'll be done
I believe in the morning light
Where I know I will see them all again
I will be free
And they'll be there
A filk by Fool Moon to the tune of It's Raining Men by The Weather Girls
Full moon's rising, growl's getting low
According to our Sirius, the Shack's the place to go
Cuz tonight for the first time
Unlike you've seen him
For the cure of your misery
It's gonna start raining Remus.

It's Raining Remus! What a gentle man!
Tall, sweet, dark and lean
Scarred and sad and strong and mean

God bless JK Rowling, she created him for you
She took a pen and paper and she did what she had to do
She taught every angel to rearrange the sky
So that each and every woman could find this perfect guy

It's Raining Remus!

JK Rowling: Go get yourself wet girl, I know you want to.

Feel the beast inside your head.
Rip off the roof and stay in bed!

A filk by Vocalion to the tune of Moonlight Becomes You by Johnny Burke & Jimmy VanHeusen (from the film Road To Morocco)
The Scene: Black and Lupin are spending a quiet evening at Number Twelve Grimmauld Place. They are both in a teasing mood.
BLACK (to LUPIN):
Moonlight transforms you
But please don't despair
I'm sure that you'll find
The right prey to snare
Moonlight transforms you
But try as you might
You're sure to grow
Very furry tonight
Snape may brew Wolfsbane Potion
What do you think of that?
Just don't mention Nev's boggart
Wearing Gran Longbottom's hat
If Harry should find you
He'd want you to know
You're not such a bad professor, although
Moonlight transforms you so
Black changes into Padfoot. Lupin takes out his wand, transfigures a muzzle, and puts it on the dog.
LUPIN (to PADFOOT):
A muzzle becomes you
Now settle down, please
And can't you do something
About all those fleas?
A muzzle becomes you
Get off of my lap!
Just turn around three times
And go take a nap
You're shedding all over the carpet
Molly hates sweeping up hair
And, must I remind you?
Please, don't sniff me there!
You should be neutered
You'd be less of a cad
Now don't hang your head down and look quite so sad
I'm only joking, Pad
A filk by Allemande to the tune of the same name by Harry Woods (made famous by Billie Holiday)
Set at the end of PoA: Professor Snape in the Slytherin common room.
DRACO (spoken): Professor, surely you'll be able to tell us what exactly happened. Where has Professor Lupin gone?
SNAPE (music):
Ooh,
What a little moonlight can do
Ooh, ooh, ooh
What a little moonlight can do to you
You're a wolf
Your eyes are wat'ring
all night long you're only slaught'ring
cause your poor mind
Just will not master the beast
inside you
Ooh, ooh, ooh
What a little moonlight can do
Wait a while
Till a little student comes close to you
You'll get wild
when you've tracked him
All you'll say
When you've attacked him is
Ooh, ooh, ooh
What a little moonlight can do
Ooh, ooh, ooh
A filk by R.J. Lupin to the tune of Carol of the Bells
The Shrieking Shack
Creaking and cracked
In a black night
The full moon's bright
Shack seems alone
There on its own
Nobody hears
Shrieking in years
Oh how he screamed
When full moon gleamed
Tale was wanted
Of it haunted
So it was made
They're all afraid
But no one knows
Just how it goes
Haunted by pain
Nights in the rain
Words and their strain
Keeping him sane
Sadly a wolf
Howls to be near
What's gone, do you
Hear or fear him?
Come back, come back, come back, come back Padfoot
Come back, come back, come back, come back Padfoot
A filk by R.J. Lupin to the tune of The Music of the Night from Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera
REMUS:
In the morning
You can feel it stirring
You know what
Will later be occuring
So then you slowly wait
For what's forever your fate
Make no mention
Attract no attention
Keep in your books
And cause no second looks
The sun starts to set
And you have to go, but yet
You don't want to go obey what gives you fright
But you must
Because it's a full moon night
When it starts
You can feel it in your very heart
The wolf yeans and the struggle starts to burn
And the pain
Is so bad you have to howl
It becomes such a battle to restrain
Come now, control
The monster in your soul
Take a rest, just
Don't let it be the best
Keep it all confined
Force it to be pushed behind
Or you know it will go take over your mind
It's such a fight during the full moon night
But the wolf won't just sit there, it will soon unfurl
The wolf wants to go and explore the world
It will come so the wolf will run out free
You become something that you can't see
Slowly, roughly
The dark night will pass by
But you're hardly
Looking up toward the sky
Then the sun will rise
Give you your human disguise
And you're born again from the sun's waking light
You've made it through another full moon night
Finally you feel a bit alright
It's done until the next full moon
Night...
A filk by Fyre to the tune of Memory from Lloyd Webber's Cats
REMUS:
Moonlight, it is time, I must hurry
Has the day gone completely?
The moon's shining, I know.
In the moonlight
The scruffy hair collects on my feet
It is time now, I must go
Doomed nights
I'm alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the morning
I was a human then
I remember the time I knew what normal life was
Let the memory live again
Every moonbeam
Seems to greet my fated monthly turning
Someone mutters
A castle light does flutter
I know there will be Morning
Daylight
Here it comes, a new sunrise
I return to my old life
It is time to give in
Now the dawn comes
Tonight becomes a memory soon
As the new day does begin
Torn up robes of nights long past
The cold air of morning
A lantern dies, I know the night is over
The day will soon be dawning
Just breath
It's so easy to believe
I'm alone with those memories
Of the place I come from
If I just breath
I'll be grateful of the coming sun
Look
The new day has begun
A filk by Allemande to the tune of Frank Sinatra's Fly Me to the Moon
REMUS:
Blimey, it's full moon
Let me get a few more scars
Let me bite and scratch myself
While safely behind bars
In other words, keep away
In other words, please avoid me
Lock me in the shed and
Let me howl for ever more,
Bite myself instead of
One I worship and adore
In other words, run on cue
For otherwise, I'll eat you.
